Midlands Dog Policy (This policy does not apply to guests traveling with registered Service or Working Dogs.) At Midlands Saddle & Trout, we believe holidays are better with your furry companions along for the ride! As one of the few resorts in South Africa that welcomes dogs, we've put together a few simple guidelines to make sure every guest — two-legged and four-legged alike — has a wonderful stay. Bringing Your Dog? Just Give Us a Heads-Up Let us know in advance if your pup will be joining the holiday. On arrival, simply present your dog's up-to-date vaccination certificate (valid within the last 12 months) at reception, and your pup will receive a special collar marker for the duration of their stay. Who Can Stay We welcome up to 2 dogs per chalet, with each dog weighing under 40kg. Please remember to bring along your dog's own bed, as well as food and water bowls. To keep things comfortable for all our guests, dogs aren't permitted in the main building, restaurant, games room, or stables — but they're more than welcome on the bonfire area, restaurant terrace, and our acres of open lawn. Dogs must also stay off the furniture and out of the bedrooms at all times. Please keep your dog on a leash (max 2m) and under control at all times. Not every guest is as comfortable around dogs as we are, so a little mindfulness goes a long way. If your dog isn't the social type, please give other dog owners a friendly heads-up before their pups come bounding over. Nobody enjoys a messy holiday! Please dispose of pet waste in the bins provided — waste bags are available at the store if you need them. R100 per dog, per stay, plus a refundable deposit of R1000 per unit.
